Gotta start early...

It's another Friends With Flair Friday and I'm done with homework for the week- hooray!

My summer babies are sharing a birthday party this year. We're renting a pool and inviting a couple classrooms worth of kids. Aubrey even wants a floating birthday cake...yeah, not gonna happen! I was really excited when the last KOM included these stamps, because they are PERFECT for our invitations! Now, I just have to find the time to make them and let the kids have a say in the construction.
Not sure which one will be harder...

I used a sizzix die and trimmed the extra words off to get the party cut-out. I had the hardest time even finding any kind of party die, surprisingly. 1 down. A couple dozen more to do...

And while I was cleaning up from the hurricane that produced the invitation, I found a bit of folded kraft that looked like it would make a good mini-card and I still have KOM stamps I haven't yet had time to use. This one went pretty quick...

Envelope, shmenvelope

Happy Friday!

This is actually my second attempt at this card. My first attempt was really 3D with the leaves hanging off of the edge... and then I realized that I do actually need to send it through our trusty postal service and there was no way it will fit into an envelope. Also, I wanted to tweak a couple of other details, and I like this result much better.

Papertrey Ink cardstock
Palette Ink
Unity and {ippity} stamps
Button from my stash, who knows??

I have some new Pebbles pearlescent chalk pencils that I wanted to try out, plus some (new to me) {ippity} stamps and the feature Unity stamps from a couple of weeks ago. Thank goodness for online ordering! I haven't yet figured out how to blend the pencils, but I like how the background turned out.

And lastly, I just want to say how much comments left mean to me. It always sets me up for an excellent weekend!

The Mailman Thinks I'm Crazy

I have been known to meet the mailman at our mailbox when I'm expecting a package. He knows this and now teases me every time I get one now.
I was really hoping for today's Friends with Flair that I would have gotten my new stamps from the sale. Living in the middle of nowhere nixed that idea. Grrrr.
I really hope my package comes today.

I got the idea for this one from yesterday's Hip Hop from Angie Blom. I love this paper from October Afternoon and the stamp comes from Birthday Chic.

Drowning in Punctuation

I really thought I was detail oriented until I started my cataloging class this summer.
Holy. Cow.
I never realized there were so many titchy rules for cataloging books that the first couple of assignments have taken HOURS to do.

I needed a break, Father's Day is coming up, Papertrey Ink has a new Make It Monday fun technique... all excellent reasons to break out the craft supplies!
