Painting with Water

I loved painting with water as a kid.
I liked how the colors would swirl together and turn from dots into a picture. I found some Paint with Water books for my kids and I was way more excited than they were.
I'm pretty sure water color pencils are the adult form of painting with water.

I had a good time with this one. Yay for Fridays!

Sympathy cards

I discovered due to recent events that it's nice to have a sympathy card on hand. Making one after I needed it was one of the hardest things to do besides finding the right message to write in it.

This is also for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday.

Recipe challenge

This challenge was a welcome relief- I made a sympathy card for a neighbor yesterday and that is my least favorite kind of card to make.

This recipe is my Aunt Marce's famous sugar cookies. They taste just like the soft ones from convenience stores, but mentally they're better because I know what goes into them! The challenge comes from Unity, and I love to see what everyone comes up with! This is also one of my favorite color combos...

Stamps: Unity, of course!

New Unity Sketch Challenge

Yay! The Unity sketch challenges are back. I missed them. Plus, I sent all of my extras to my grandmother-in-law as a Mother's Day gift, so now I need some more back ups.

It really looks like I was trying to fit every pattern imaginable on this one little card. I'm not sure what brand the paper is- it came when I joined KOM and it seemed fitting to use for this challenge! The ribbon was packaging from something....OK, I don't know where most of this card came from! I used 12/10 {just be you} and 4/11 {small things Matter Most}stamps.

Practically Vacation

This week is going to be crazy...Teacher appreciation at two schools and everything kid is starting to finish up for the year. Last night I was approached by one of the deacons at church because they want to learn how to make cards. I wasn't expecting that, but it would be fun to do with other people.

Here's my entry for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday, also doing double duty as a birthday card for C.

The embossing turned out better than I thought it would- I haven't figured out the sandwich layers yet!

Two down, dozens to go!

Or at least it feels like it. I have just finished my second semester of grad school, and at the rate I'm going, this could take a while. The nice thing about these online semesters is that they are short. The bad thing about them is that they are short. I have now found myself with another month before my next class starts and the last time that happened, I went crazy with the online shopping.

To be more productive and less wasteful, I decided to make a set of CAS cards for A's grandma, who is much more agile in mind than she is in body. Plus, due to my last shopping extravaganza, I have so many card making supplies that I am out of room. This way I can use them up to make room for more!

Plus, I used a PTI coaster for its corners and as a straight edge to make the frame. Ahhh, multitasking!
